The Mighty One is the lifelong vision of Canadian artist Tim Steinruck, who founded the project as a solo endeavor in 2007 and remains its core driving force. The journey evolved dramatically: from collaborating with Canadian metal legend Devin Townsend and his band on the debut album, to having AC/DC producer/mixer Mike Fraser helm the breakout single “Reprieved,” which cracked the Top 10 on rock radio across North America.

This success opened doors to major licensing and placement deals for the 2012 album SHIFT with the NHL, NASCAR, MTV, Discovery, and A+E. In 2017, the Spanish-language version of “Reprieved” (“Absuelto”) became a Top 100 national radio hit in Colombia, establishing a growing fanbase across South America. The band signed with German label S.A.O.L./CMM in 2021 for the landmark album Torch Of Rock And Roll. The title track, featuring an autobiographical animated video that later inspired a comic book series, became one of several successful singles from the release.

The single “Kickin’ Stones,” which confronts mental health and suicide prevention, remains a cornerstone of Steinruck’s work as a life coach, speaker, and facilitator. It earned The Mighty One Songwriter of the Year, Album of the Year, and Band of the Year honors at the 2023 International Singer-Songwriter Awards in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2025, the band delivered direct support on a sold-out, multi-city Colombian tour with Spanish metal icons OBUS.

During the run, Steinruck delivered a powerful mental health and suicide prevention presentation to 350 faculty and staff at the University of Quindío. Now in 2026, The Mighty One unleashes the crushing new metal single SHATTERED and is preparing a highly anticipated return tour to South America.
